Talanx records more than $20 million loss due to natural disasters

Germany-based insurer and reinsurer Talanx A.G.’s recorded a loss of €19 million ($22 million) in the third quarter due to the recent natural disasters, Merkur.de reported citing Handelsblatt. That’s compared with a profit of €233 million in the third quarter of 2016. The company paid out more than €1 billion in claims for hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria and the earthquakes in Mexico.
