A survey by U.S.-based cyber security firm ESET L.L.C. found that 40% of Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises cited a lack of budget as the biggest barrier to improve their cybersecurity, compared with 34% in Singapore and 28% in Hong Kong, SecurityBriefAsia reported. The survey found that Japanese SMEs are lagging in network security, with 28% of SMEs adopting standard processes compared with 81% in India and 78% in Thailand. Nearly 25% of Japanese SMEs said that they have a cybersecurity awareness program for employees, compared with 77% in India and 66% in Singapore.
