More than one-third of cyber attacks target firms in Asia Pacific

U.S.-based internet security firm Trend Micro Inc. said that the Asia Pacific region accounted for nearly 36% of the world’s cyber attacks in the first six months, ABS-CBN News reported. The attacks primarily took advantage of outdated systems used by firms in the region. Trend Micro said that more than 118,000 online banking malware attacks were detected and 47 million downloads on mobile apps using phishing scams were recorded in the first half.
