Turkish hailstorms likely to cause $300 million in insured losses

A field in Turkey is covered in hail after a July storm.

Verisk Analytics Inc.’s unit Property Claim Services Inc. said that July hailstorms caused an estimated $300 million worth of insurance and reinsurance losses in Turkey, Artemis.bm reports. The July 18 storm caused about $45 million of loss, while the storm which occurred on July 27 resulted in a loss of about $253 million.
