Winners will share more than $1 million in funding

The Aviva Community Fund competition has returned for its ninth year, offering more than $1 million in funding for community projects across Canada.Related: Aviva Canada partners with OneEleven for DisasterTech Hackathon
Contestants are encouraged to submit their ideas for effecting positive change by October 2 for a chance to win funding.

There are four project categories: Community Resilience, Community Health, Community Development and Community Legacy; and two funding categories: small ideas for under $50,000 and large ideas for $50,000 to $100,000.
New to this year’s competition, Aviva will consider submissions from social enterprises, registered B corporations and nonprofits, in addition to registered charities.
Also new, the Community Legacy category, aimed at addressing climate change, is open to social entrepreneurs aged 18 to 25.
Finalists will be revealed on November 1, with the winners announced on December 5.
