Facebook slapped with nearly $1.5-million fine by data protection agency

Spain’s data protection agency Agencia Espanola de Proteccion de Datos has fined Facebook Inc. $1.4 million for allegedly collecting personal information from users that could be used for advertising, Reuters reported. The fine stemmed from an investigation into the social networking firm conducted alongside similar probes in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, AEPD added.
