Two women will be awarded scholarships to attend the Ivey Leadership Program

Aviva Canada and Mills Brokers Insurance Solutions have partnered to create a scholarship fund that will allow women in the insurance industry to attend the Leadership Program at the Ivey Business School at Western University in London, Ont.Related: Aviva Canada offers insurance for home sharing
The Women Creating Legacy in Insurance Scholarship Fund honours Christie McKechnie (formerly Mills), who opened Mills Brokers Insurance Solutions in 1979.
“[McKechnie] was successful because she built her business and her relationships around the principles of integrity and accountability,” said Amy Mills, president of Mills Brokers Insurance Solutions and daughter of McKechnie.

Two women will be awarded scholarships to attend the Ivey Leadership Program, to be held in November of this year and April 2018. Nominations are open to women aged 40 and under across Ontario.
“We’re proud to honour [McKechnie’s] accomplishments in the insurance industry by offering other exceptional women the opportunity to advance their careers and create an extraordinary legacy,” said Jason Storah, Aviva Canada’s executive vice-president, Broker Distribution. “Our hope is that these scholarship recipients will become ambassadors for the values of this award.”
The nomination deadline is October 2, 2017, for the November Leadership Program. Nominations for the April 2018 program will open early next year.
