Peru to boost catastrophe insurance to cover infrastructure and agriculture

Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance plans to boost the domestic catastrophe insurance market to protect the country’s infrastructure against natural disasters, following damage caused by the El Nino weather phenomenon, Andina.com.pe reported. “We are analyzing how to guarantee future infrastructure damage, with the country’s reconstruction playing an important role,” said Claudia Cooper, Peru’s deputy minister of economy.
